Ten Things I...

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! It’s Holly here bringing you a new challenge for the week! Yay! Here we go! J

The challenge this week is to scrap using the journaling prompt, "Ten things I....(blank)". It can be, for example, "Ten things I....love about you, Ten things I...am thankful for, Ten things I....am afraid of, Ten things I....avoid", etc. And the only rules are:

• You must use the journaling prompt and list the ten things on your page somehow
• You must use more than one photo (it can be the same photo repeated, if you want, lol)

ok, maybe not in the real world, but it's definitely so in hodge podge town because mondays mean we've got a brand new art challenge for you!!  It's Liz here with this weeks prompt.  Before we dive in, I just gotta get this out of my system: I am so honored and excited to be here!!!

here's the challenge for this week:
Think sidebar, as in the columns commonly seen on blogs and other web pages.  Use it as inspiration and incorporate that design concept into your layout. maybe in the form of narrow strips of elements, skinny columns of photos, hairline + fine journaling.....interpret sidebar however you like!!

My Many Colored Days

I am so excited to be a hodge podge gal. I feel so incredibly blessed to get to work with these many talented girls. I hope you all enjoy this weeks challenge.

I recently checked out this book from our local library.

It has quickly become a household favorite.
Here are the words from the inside! (it's short! teeheehee)

Some days are yellow.
Some are blue.
On different days
I'm different too.

You'd be surprised
how many ways
I change
on different
Colored Days.

On Bright Red Days
how good it feels
to be a horse
and kick my heels!

On other days I'm other things.
On Bright Blue Days
I flap my wings.

Some days, of course,
feel sort of Brown.
Then I feel slow
and low, low down.

The comes a Yellow Day.
And, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I am a busy, buzzy bee.

Gray Day...
Everything is gray.
I watch. But
nothing moves today.

Then
all of a sudden
I'm a circus seal!
On my Orange Days
that's how I feel.

Green days.
Deep deep
in the sea.
Cool and quiet fish.
That's me.

On Purple Days
I'm sad.
I groan.
I drag my tail.
I walk alone.

But when my days
are Happy Pink
it's great to jump
and just not think.

Then come my Black Days.
Mad. And loud.
I howl.
I growl at every cloud.

Then comes a Mixed-Up Day.
And WHAM!
I don't know
who
or
what
I am!

But it all
turns out all right,
you see.
And I got back
to being.....
me.

Isn't that JUST AMAZING!! The book, the words, the meaning and OHMYGOSH the paintings are FABULOUS!!!!

The pictures are what have inspired this challenge..

So here's the challenge:
Find a picture (or group of pictures...I don't care)
And scrap YOUR mood-or the mood portrayed by the photos.
And yup, you've got it, choose a COLOR! Just one (unless it's a Mixed Up day! ROFL)
and use that as the MAIN color on your layout.
