Gettin' GIRLY!

Hellooooooo my fine scrappy friends! Gina here, with a brand-new, extra-girly HP inspiration!  Traci would love to be joining us in this post today, but she's too busy rockin' out to some Gwen Stefani tunes on this lovely morning..........

Traci's pick for last week's inspiration was this amazing layout by Karen.  And because she's just feeling so relaxed this from all the laying around in the pool (or is it sunstroke?), she'll be sending the fab miss Karen a $10 GC to her store at Funky Playground.

And now, on with the girly-ness!

I'm a total girly-girl. I cannot (and will not!) deny it. I collect lipgloss, I have a scent for every season & reason and my husband is often ready to explode when he sees just how many shampoo & conditioner bottles have accumulated in the bathroom.  Even if you are shaking your head and saying "No, that's not me", I call your bluff! I say we all have a bit of that girly-ness inside and this week, I want to see it!

I challenged them to scrap something RELAXING.  It's hot here and I hate being sweaty when I'm not exercising, lol!  So I like thinking about what makes me feel relaxed and calm; Like a cool breeze, a refreshing pool, a tall pina colada (or lemonade).  So scrap something relaxing, whatever you want.  A picture of your kids sleeping, you hanging out with good friends, whatever it may be!

And since blue is a relaxing color, make sure you include two blue items and something soft.

Journaling: I’ve always wanted a shady place in the back yard to hang a hammock. It just seems like the ultimate way to relax. How can your mind be stressed or frazzled while swinging your way to a carefree state of mind. This may just be a picture, but it is something I picture in my mind and will someday make a reality. First I need to plant some trees!

Well, not really. But this week we are leaving our everyday pictures at home and scrapping a vacation! Maybe pulling out those old pictures (or in my case, not so old...) will help us relax and relive some of the magic we've experienced on past vacations.

By the way, don't you want to know who is bringing you this challenge? Well, it's me- GINA - because you know, my amigo TRACI is just feeling all frazzled after setting up two challenges back-to-back. Personally I think all of that Floridian sun is getting to her........ I want everyone to scrap a vacation!  Capture your trip in a multi-photo layout, re-live one funny memory, embellish that one magical beach photo or just journal your heart out re-telling those stories.... it's up to you.  I want to see:

• journal tabs!! Either arranged as a decorative element or actually used to jot down notes/journaling
• swirly doodles. The funkier/swirlier, the better!

The eyes of the statue lead you to the hands, which in turn lead you to the leaves of the bouquet.  As you gaze at the bouquet, the long tendrils draw your eye upward.  In just the photo, you are then stopped at the top.  However, I used your stems from the Funky Flowers to keep your eye going up the page.  I then used the curled border to bring your eyes back down to the page, and then follow to the right where the memorial note is.  You read the journaling, then the flower draws your eye down to the next piece, which is the quote, and then the lines of the "ironwork" draw you back to the photo again.

It's a REDO!

Hey Podgin' Crew!  Traci's in the hizouse with Hodge Podge challenge #4!  Gina's busy folding and packing all of her teeny tiny clothes she bought for her big trip, wow - did that girl shop or what?  My honey is about ready to ban me from reading her blog for all the extra duty work it's costing him!  LOL!!
