Hey everyone! It's Gina and I have a fun, no-brainer, mishmash of a challenge for you today!

I love mixing & matching different alphas and typefaces. Titles and alpha selection are usually the finishing touches to all of my pages and I feel that they can really make a good page great!

For this challenge, I want you to mix up at least 3 different alphas AND 3 different fonts! Have fun with words and go crazy using different alphas and text on within your design. The more, the merrier!

This challenge's winners will get handy dandy gift cards to either my store, Liz (Paislee Press), Kate (Hadfield) or Angela (Powers). Awesome!

Hi everyone! It's Michelle here – posting my first challenge!

Life Lessons

Here in North America (and elsewhere!) children have just reluctantly returned to school after a summer vacation. But as adults, we know that the School of Life is ALWAYS in session – no summer vacation there. Not even a recess! Whether you are 9 or 90, life teaches you something new every day.

The theme for this challenge is “Life Lessons” You can interpret this anyway you like! It can be serious and reflective or funny and light-hearted. The only requirement is that your title or journalling must include the word “lesson”

For lots of us September is the end of the summer break and time for the kids to go back to school. For this week's challenge I'd like you to create a page all abut the "end of an era", whatever that era might mean to you - it could be the end of the summer break, or a big life change such as moving house or job, or just something simple like a child moving from cot to bed. Focus on the end of the situation (rather than on the new) and scrap a page about the end of your era!

i love repetition.  it's such a simple yet powerful design technique.  it's liz here, checking in on this lovely monday morning with a brand new challenge!  it's a super simple one.  take something (a color, a photo, an element, words, etc.) and repeat it throughout your layout.  if you want to get really crazy, apply repetition to TWO different components of your layout (ie., photos and text).

here's some inspiration to get you thinking about repetition

Tali rocked the repetition design concept throughout her layout.  first with the repeated photo sequence repeated: (love that she included both the color and b&w version - total attention grabber), then with color (she consistently applied a chose a yellow+black scheme for her accents/embellishments and text to create a cohesive and polished look).
